Term 3

Welcome back everyone!
The new term has started and we are already busy designing costumes for the wearable art. We will have Wearable Arts Show on 17th September. More details about the show nights will follow closer to the time:)
We are delighted to have two new students in our class. KH is actually been in BDS before and NJ has been Botany Kindy before his family moved away. And they are learning the life in BDS quickly and everyone is helping them to feel welcome. We do have caring and responsible classmates in Room 17, and they will be feeling a part of team Room 17 in no time!

 We have a special assembly for Mr. J. this Friday for he will be retiring and he has been with us for 30 years. We love Mr. J and will miss him very much, but hopefully he will continue come and coach our Touch and Ripper rugby.

Just A Minute Speaker

WO shared a lovely speech about her cat whose name is 'Mr. Pickle'. She told us that his name was originally Mr.Prickle, but whenever she called she ended up saying Mr. Pickle, so his name became Mr. Pickle instead. She told us that he likes to sleep on the top of their car and also under the table. WO's family adopted him when he was 18weeks old. He just had his birthday no long ago. We wonder how he
celebrated his birthday?

Finally with WO's speech the Just a Minute Speaker has been made by every member of the class. Well done everyone!

We'll be starting to prepare our assembly at the week 10, which is the end of the Term assembly. Unfortunately we will have so many items which give us not much time on our own items. However, we will do our BEST show on our assembly!

Good bye to one of our friends in Room 17

Sadly at the end of this week MC is leaving our school, due to they are shifting their house. He will be starting to go to an new school in Beachland. We will miss you CM, your corky personality and full of energy. We hope you'll keep in touch with us through our blog or Skype. We wish you all the best in the new school!

Disco

School Disco is on this Friday!
It will start from 6:30 to 8:30. Children must be dropped off at the entrance of the hall and also must be picked up at the entrance of the hall at 8:30. There will be DJ organised by PTA and some goodies to buy!

Happy Hour!

We had our Happy Hour last Friday! We all shared things we brought from our home and get on well with each others. By now we know better about each other in this class and finding our friends to be comfortable to play together!

Just a Minute Speakers

We completed all the speakers for now and here are the speakers.

TA shared her special toy that was given to her when she was two years old for her birthday. It was on top of the cake! Her grandmother made the cake for her and she is using a special cloth that her grandmother has given to her for a blanket.
TJ also shared her special ponies. She has been collecting them and now she has ten ponies. She doesn't know where her mother got them. We would love to find out where she got them, as for some of us want to get them, too!

Hokey Pokey Ice Cream

We made Hokey Pokey ice-cream. Originally we made our Hokey Pokey to see the changes in the kitchen by mixing syrup, sugar and baking soda. We heated the sugar mix and then add baking soda. It was great to see the quick but amazing change in the pot!

The top one was successful hokey pokey, and the bottom picture is burnt hokey pokey!! Some of us were brave enough to try the taste of the burnt hokey pokey! Then we decided to use the normal hokey pokey to put it into our ice-cream.
