Making Butter!!!

On Friday we attempt to make butter from cream, using three bottles of glass jars, cream and three marbles. We all had our Hypothesis of what would happen and why it would happen prior to our experiments. Then we all had our tern to shake and stir the jars until it started to thicken the cream. We observed and discussed what was happening and why it occurred.
We also talked about the kitchen rules and why it is necessary for those rules.
It was interesting to see and think of the differences between the size of jars as well. One of jar was started to crack for shaking vigorously.
There are some of the photos from this experiments.

Term Two

A new term has started well and truly, and we are already busy making butter from cream to see the change in the kitchen. We are learning to describe the change by thinking how it happens, why it happens when it cooked, heated and stirred etc, and what if...in our Inquiry topic.
We began our sports rotation. All the students are required to bring House T-shirts and wear our school sports shorts on Tuesday.
We are going on a school trip to Tip Top on Wednesday! Thank you for your kind offers to make this trip successful.
We are also having our Bake Sale this term as a Middle syndicate fundraising activity for our school.
We hope we will have an another fantastic term, and we would appreciated your continuous support.

Kind regards

Mrs. Giovanni

Just s minute Speakers

We had a busy term and these speakers were the last for this term.
SC shared her interesting facts about 'Russian Nesting Dolls/ Matryoshka Doll' She talked about how many sites she went through on internet to research and verify the facts about them by consistency. She brought the dolls with her and showed us the inside of the dolls. Well done SC you are learning to select information as a competent researcher!

LA shared his story about the trip to Rotorua with his family and friend. He talked about how he spent time and how long it took them to get there. He must have enjoyed the trip and we all wanted to go to Rotorua after we heard his story!

Just a Minute Speakers

CS talked about 10 days ago her family adopted a little bunny from RSPCA . The bunny is three months old and it is very tiny. She wanted to bring the bunny to show us, but the timing was not suitable at this time. Perhaps we can have another occasion to ask CS to bring it to show us how the bunny is doing well.
JS talked about the 'Smashfest'. He went to see the Smashfest on last Saturday with his family. He saw many cars crashed and smashed! We saw some of the great photos of them. There were two demolition cars in particular he liked their names were 'Nos; and 'Sheriff'. And he likes Sheriff the most, because he likes police cars! He took some cool photos!
Well done for surviving many questions from your peers both of you!
Next week's speakers are MA and LA.

Just a Minute Speakers

AS shared her special photos from the trips she went with her family and grandparents from UK. We loved the sand dune picture the most. It looked amazingly fun! Lucky you! Thank you for sharing those precious memories with us and a great speech.

GT shared his special pencil case which he got it in South Africa. There were two BeyBlades inside it. He told us that he has over 90 BeyBlades in a box at home! It must be an awesome collection and to play with.
Next week, we'll have two more new speakers. Well done every one so far for making this events happening  every week, and we are thrilled to listen to interesting topics.
